The presentation of spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) mimics other acute coronary events. At Mayo Clinic, patients with SCAD undergo comprehensive vascular imaging; 66 percent of this population has evidence of extracoronary vascular abnormalities.

Multimodality therapy improves survival in patients with pancreatic cancer
A standardized protocol combining neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiation with aggressive surgical resection has doubled median survival and improved five-year survival rates for patients with pancreatic cancer.

Awake brain surgery offers significant advantages for patients
Neurologic testing during surgery offers patients who are treated for brain tumors, focal epilepsy, cavernomas and arteriovenous malformations an additional layer of safety. Forgoing anesthesia allows patients to provide immediate feedback to surgeons during and after surgery. Recovery is rapid.

Parent-coached exposure therapy superior for pediatric anxiety, OCD
Although not widely available, parent-coached exposure therapy may provide greater improvement in less time than does cognitive behavioral therapy for children with anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
